COMMENDATION [solved]

Postby tbrownarcher2 on Wed Feb 26, 2014 10:30 pm

I have ben using linux mint cinnamon and mate for almost a year now. Before mint I really could not use linux though I had been trying since maybe 1995. Everywhere I went to try a new distro I had trouble with the instruction being only for those who are electronicly educated.
I'm not a dummy but I could get nowhere . I have been going through my topics I have had during the last year, the questions I had. I have [SOLVED] at the end of almost every topic. This MINT is wonderful. I am more computer savvy now than when I started with DOS in 1990 but I'm not so savvy that instruction does not need to be user friendly. I say again this is wonderful even to the extent that it's easier to get useable help here than it IS in windows.

The use of a windows based research tool for the bible was the last thing I needed to totally get rid of windows and that was accomplished with wine and help
from all you guys the last 2 or 3 days.

Anyone can now use linux and use it free. I hated calling Microsoft for help and other software distributors and finally having to spit out my credit card #.
It took me actually 2 years to become dos proficient and Maybe 5 years to do so for win 3.1 and above.

I don't have to worry about ad ware clogging the system up. It just don't happen. I do the same stuff with my computer that i did before and more and better than with Windows. I'm 67 yrs old and still learning but I'm learning easier. I use the terminal not with ease but I know that if i need to find something I can get the help.

this is just my $0.2 .

Thanks,
Nate
