Mintism Today

Postby Ede on Fri Aug 24, 2007 6:19 pm

I'll be honest, the reason I tried mint for the first time was because it's logo had green colors. I newer knew I would like it so much, but anyway...

Mintism. :P How crazy are we about linux mint? Sure, I wrote about it in my blog, and I'we seen many-a-user use the mint-logo as an avatar on this forum. Nothing wrong about that, but the logo is becoming a minor culture-icon. Luckly, mint have a bunch of great designers, and that's why the mint-logo is one of the finest among distro-logo's. All hail the designer.

This thread is dedicated to mint-stuff and how crazy we are about it.

I'we cut out a stencil of the logo, and will spray it onto my laptop. It will be so awesome. :3

I also discovered how to use the snow-plugin in compiz/beryl...

I seriously considered it, but for somewhat reason I went sane and decided to tattoo Mega Man on my arm instead.

No sleep tonight. So I suddenly made this while listening to Daft Punk.

Windows, lol.
Yes, I use a generic old-skool filth-clothing mousepad. It rocks. I'we spilled coke on it for years, but it's washable.

Behold my ghetto power-supply. :P

My laptop is dirty and scratchy. And oooold. >_>

Windows is extremely fast after a fresh install. If you want to make it stay that way: - don't use it.

Talking about stencils, why not make copies and we could all buy them off you. I'd pay $5 for one. :)

i know this has been raised before (by me and others) but i would really like some sort of sticker or badge for my computer, so if i got a few printed would anyone be interested in one?

I've priced domed case badges at around US$1, so is anyone interested?

LostOverThere: Not a bad idea, though I used about half an hour just to make that one. >_> If I had a lazer, it would be easy. I'm using knives.

calumc: Good idea. Clem could sell. :P As I see the community and the distro gets stronger, the idea of a bigger and more extensive shop comes in mind where one can buy mint t-shirts, stickers, mint usb-pens (With mint live on it.) and other stuff like that. Coffe-mugs. :P

Ok Ede, you inspired me to make an official stencil for those who have patience to cut a template.

Mint Logo Stencil
Inspired by Ede
Grab the SVG from http://www.box.net/shared/df94rpdgi7

So one thing I did, the separating lines for the stencil are in straight areas so they can be easy to fill in by hand. Now feel free to use just the logo, the words or whatever.

And if you do something, post a picture here. :D
