Yeah I think most people don't realize its on the front page. On the new site this will be rectified.

Just ordered mine. Only $.90 for shipping - that's great!

Thank you to everyone who made the case badges happen.

Just received my black penguin Mint of calums. Nice - 1 came in wrinkled - I am not a big fan of cafe press but wanted these and wanted to support Mint.

I put one on my thinkpad where I took off the windoze sticker and i also put 2 other on the actual top outside of the thinkpad in opposite corners of the IBM logo! Looks great!

Thanks Calumc!

sweet. you do know cafepress has a 30 day money back guarantee so if the product is damaged you can return it. then again i bet it got wrinkled in shipping.

btw, in case anyone wants to know, since there's a 30 day money back guarantee, there is i think either a 30 day or 60 day waiting period before the money from purchases gets credited to my cafepress account and available

Thought I would do a little update....

So far, the most popular Linux Mint Case badge (based on sales) seems to be this one by Calumc (sold 6 copies)
http://www.cafepress.com/potoflove.172647043

although there is sales, as it sits right now, there has been a total of nine sales meaning Linux Mint has only got nine dollars. I can't do anything till this amount reaches $100 so there must be 91 more badges sold before Linux Mint can get a $100 donation from this effort.

I would like to say thank you to everyone who has purchased these badges. I would like to get feedback on the quality and maybe even some photos of the badges on the computers so we can all see how they look. We also need to get more people to make badges and find more people to purchase these designs. The more that is purchased, the more Linux Mint will get, and I bet they can use it.

Well I'll definitely be posting pics of mine that GrayWizard is sending me.

Maybe a Mod could make a sticky thread at the top of this forum or the artwork forum with details?

I got my sticker today!!!
Heres a pic of it on my keyboard (sorry for the crappy quality):

The quality of the sticker is fairly good but if we are going to making official badges i'd much prefer a domed badge.
Oh and thanks again to graywizard!!

I just sent you a Pm saying it was on its way - wild - the Power of Guinness.

anyway the sticker i have on my thinkpad is wearing already from my palm use. the real aluminum stickers would and should be the way to go next time. They will last - mine are already showing wear. also the one on the outside of the thinkpad is also wearing and I hardly touch it. the other is like new.

Synchronicity!!!! I am glad you got it!

wow didnt know they wore so quickly. I know my friend (who works at kinkos) knows a method of making case badges. he made one with his site logo for his laptop years ago and its still not wore or faded. i might see if he can help somehow. apparently kinkos doesnt know how he does it, and its all his own technique.

another option is to find some company that can print case badges.. but then you run the risk of being cheated :-\

too bad cafepress doesnt have "case badges" instead of just stickers

Katasuka, That is fine - No princess intended. case badges were done by people on Ubuntu site - aluminum for some LOCO groups or some such thing they had to order a lot and it was costly but they were the real deal.

Your efforts are not in vain! I like then a lot. Do not take this in the wrong way please.

all is well!!! I like mine a lot.

If you look at the first page of the thread you will see a link that I posted: http://www.scotgold.com/acatalog/ScotGo ... ges_1.html
They can do domed badges for about $1 each. But I think this would only be viable if we had an official shop. I would offer to place a bulk order and send them out to people but I'm not sure how many people would trust me!
Now that Im thinking maybe I could do it via ebay to make it a secure transaction....
Anyone else got any thoughts on this?
