No, 10/11/12 is not a date. Having read numerous reviews of LM KDE 10, 11 and 12, I thought I would ask actual users their opinions about these three releases.
Longtime Mandriva / PCLOS user. Pretty much going to stick with KDE. Looking for something to replace MDV 2008.1 for business. Have had very good luck with MDV/PCLOS but have some issues on Toshiba A305 and would like to give LM a try. My rationale for LM 10 is that generally, I try to match the kernel and/or the release date of the distro to approximately about 6-18 months after manufacture date of the hdwr. Laptop vintage is early 2009.
Currently posting from LM 10 KDE LiveDVD and all seems fine although FF 3.6.x may need upgrading. I would like to know if a FF upgrade will break stuff. I DO NOT need nor want bleeding edge. Also, I am really considering going with a non-rolling release distro which MDV was, but PCLOS is not.
I use:
OO or LO
Konq/Dolphin/Krusader
grsync or LuckyBackup
Digikam
kwrite
Konsole (for occasional CL stuff)
xsane
kpdf/Okular
FF
Thunderbird
For what it's worth, LM "10" seems to keep coming up on top.
What say you all?
Signed,
Possible new LM user.
