ROSA 2012

Postby Myself on Thu May 17, 2012 1:56 am

Read one or two wonderful reviews and what ROSA have written on their website and I think this could be a good replacement for Mandriva.
Installed ROSA 2012, which unlike most distributions saw my hard drive partitions correctly, replacing Mandriva.
It is slow to start but so was Mandriva.
On trying to watch most videos there is no sound.
Installed VLC 2.0.1 but still no sound.
Tried to install codecs via the package manager but it crashed, locked-up the screen, and CPUs are running at 100% - not good! - only option is to reboot using the power button (!!!) and try again but it just crashes every time.
Given-up!

Writing this from my favourite distro - LMDE
CPU = U9300, 4GB RAM, Intel GM45 Graphics @ resolution 1366x768, 128GB internal drive, 6TB external storage, Main OS = LMDE Xfce 64bit UP4. 2nd OS = LMDE Xfce 64bit UP4, Other installed OSs = Bodhi 1.4.0, Ubuntu 10.04 & 12.04, Mandriva & Windows.
