can't install Mint 13 on Aspire one 0751h

I downloaded Peppermint-3-20120722-i386.iso, made a USB drive with UNetbootin on Windows. It booted ok on a Dell laptop. When I attempt to boot my Aspire One 0751h, the bottom of the screen is black, and I have two mouse pointers in the top. One pointer will "paint out" things on the screen, the other one will "paint them back in. It's kind of entertaining, but useless! Thanks for any help

Sorry but....

You write in the title Mint 13 but in your reply you say it's about Peppermint.

Peppermint isn't Linux Mint 13, it's a whole other distro and based on Lubuntu if i'm not mistaken, that uses some of the Mint apps/features.

exactly which linux distro you are trying to install on your Aspire?
can you boot that live-USB and opening a terminal post the output of

As shared, Peppermint is based on Lubuntu and not on Linux Mint

Well, that just proves what a nooby I am! I found the correct Mint file and have downloaded it. I did try to go to the Peppermint board as suggested, but after many many tries, I gave up registering, couldn't get the confirmation thingy to work! Many thanks for setting me straight, I'll give the real Mint a try.
