Venting, but if I get help, great too

Ughhh. I can't stand Fedora. Honestly, in school Fedora and Red Hat are what turned me off of Linux. It wasn't until recent years when a friend introduced me to Mint 10, that I started enjoying Linux as it just worked (to quote Mac). Ubuntu isn't bad either, I have an imaging server that was an option for Ubuntu, (among other Linux distros) so I chose Ubuntu since it's close to Mint.
I have a machine acting as a file server that doubles as a DHCP server for work. Then coworkers as me to install a Quickbooks database on a machine. I certainly don't want to add a whole other computer just running a single task... So I decided to rebuild a new machine ruinning Fedora, as that's the only one I know anything about that's compatable as a Quickbooks database... I hate Fedora, just makes everything more complicated.
So if anybody can help me with a file share and then DHCP I can call quickbooks and have them help me with setting up their database...
