ddm -d does not run on live mode, with force option it runs

log is here

/opt/mint-flashplugin-11
/opt/mint-flashplugin-11/libflashplayer.so
zerozero@debian:~$ locate libflashplayer.so
/usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree/libflashplayer.so
I found a solution for this:

Code: Select all

sudo ln -sf /opt/mint-flashplugin-11/libflashplayer.so /etc/alternatives/libflashplayer.so
sudo ln -sf /etc/alternatives/libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so
Will be fixed in next iso.

[EDIT]
Firefox was missing the Java and VLC plugin: browser-plugin-vlc icedtea-6-plugin.
But that added another 50MB (!) to the iso.

I think we can say that most annoying graphical issues are solved.
We now need to focus on slimming down the iso: be critical and tell me what is not needed or if there are good, smaller alternatives.

I nowcan enter DE by droping to 'maintanence mode from grub' and login then 'startx' still no network (even wired) panel has nothing on right side (tray bluetooth, wicd ect.)
Will try Beta when comes online!... (maybe bad burn??tho msum checked?)

sorry din't give how to auto-play media  can set in 'setting>removable drives & media' medai tab.
also web cam app thats has a small "footprint' camorama.
also can't remember if a USB burner on live (I like unetbootin) or use the remastersys one (maybe in sparky linux only??)

for post saying display wallpaper default (blue with mouse in middle). Not sure if same but I always get that because I use a external monitor (acully HDTV with vga) hooked thru dock. Always need to tell not to use internal display (laptop) or atleast not to clone display (xfce, mate, unity, lxde ALL)
Laptop display being always primary intefers with writing to external (larger one) i think?

Thank You

P.S. aren't your years off on the unofficial KDE web/download page?

Compared with LMDE KDE, these pulseaudio packages are missing:

Code: Select all

libcanberra-pulse
libpulse-mainloop-glib0
pulseaudio-esound-compat
pulseaudio-module-bluetooth

Could you install them one by one and see if it changes anything (I suppose you'll need to reboot in between)...sorry.

on beta

now can get pass login/greeter on install. :D

still no wireless detected on live but after install have wireless detected (with no extra stuff) and wired also works. :?

graphics seemed washed out (intel intergated) both FB and regular driver. Maybe theme /lighting here composition(ing) seems a little better.

Web cam (didn't realize "camorama' brought so much Gnome Stuff) seems slower frame rates (tho not locking after 5min like most 32bit distros)

DDM seemed to lock installing 'pae kernel' (maybe just impatient  ) used synaptic.

Mint update and software manager seem slow (their python based right?)

Will try to install remastersys (makes thing a lot easier I think) wheezy 3.0.1 version (with GUI  )

Thank You

first of all i hope Gene sorts out those audio issues (odd  ); all i had to do was apply the usual fix (well known because of my problematic card) and sound is working fine

- one issue i noticed here (have no idea if it's replicable elsewhere): when changing from the default qt theme/icon to any gtk-based ghanges don't apply immediately (actually i need a logout for that); the same doesn't happen changing between gtk-based themes/icons afterwards (changes are immediate) << it's not a major issue but i'm puzzled.

- pae and nvidia installed smoothly;
- i thought about parole's removal now that vlc "has" to be installed (it's done 8) ) << in this topic i can't see ways to slim the iso, not if you want to give the user a proper ootb experience

Nadia = Intel ICH6 (Alsa mixer)
UN/XFCE = Playback: Built-in Audio Analog Stereo (PulseAudio Mixer)
(Was Intel ICH6 (Alsa mixer) by default)
