CentOS boot issue: ACPI: Core revision 20060707

Postby geforce on Thu Jan 10, 2013 8:32 pm

I am a Linux newbie

My task is to convert a CentOS 5.6 VM (currently running on XenServer) to be able to run on Hyper-V

I am using this guide to achieve the task: http://itproctology.blogspot.com.au/200 ... erver.html

Everything went according to the plan except for the major and only issue

When I boot the VM on Hyper-V, it gets stuck on a message ACPI: Core revision 20060707 and never goes beyond that point

Here is the screenshot http://i.imgur.com/jWlBB.png

Basically, according to that guide, I had to install a different kernel and modify grup

Here is screenshot of my grup http://i.imgur.com/jiQbt.png

I have tried acpi=off and acpi=off noacpi but no luck!

I have also disabled Support for Legacy USB Devices on my BIOS still no luck!

Could somebody please help on this!

Thank you in advance
