Is there a better version of linux for a dell d600 latitude? Mint 13 works fine, except for one thing. Flash videos is horrible. The video drivers for firegl 9000 are bad. If it wasn't for that, it will run everything else effortlessly. I tried looking for a driver like 8.24, didn't find it.

I bought this laptop for 20 bucks ebay. Cheap deal to use on trips.

That's an old notebook, right
  • Apart from getting a lighter weighted desktop, such as xfce or lxde, or a lighter or customizable Linux distribution, such as Linux from scratch or pc linux
--and flash player can be a general issue with some Linux OS distributions

  • Video Card
Use the open source "xf86-video-ati" radeon driver. ATI dropped support for the Radeon (RV250) Mobility FireGL 9000 after catalyst driver version 8.28.8.
--or search "linux + ati catalyst drivers"

That is the driver I am using. Absolutely junk. I may end up writing my own yet.
