Today I have installed Zorin OS 6 core 32bit alongside Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon 64bit on an old desktop. After testing it , I ended up with the following conclusions:

1- Installer: Zorin has a beautiful installer featuring an audio-video slide welcoming you in some 10 languages. It has alert sounds signalling transition when istalling the OS which are nice.
2- Looks: Zorin OS has a very beautiful dock instead of the traditional panel layout which adds to its responsiveness and elegance.
3- Responsiveness: Zorin OS is very responsive though it has compiz preinstalled and preconfigured.

the bottom line is that Zorin OS rocks. I love it and I think Mint has to learn from it when it comes to customizability and looks:D :D Linux Mint is still my OS of choice but there are few things that need to be pushed forward :D What do you think guys?

Too bad the installation of Zorin OS 6 fails, the screen flickers and cannot change the video driver because you cannot edit the files that need to be changed with root permission.
Linux Mint has the option of accessing folder and file as ROOT or Administrator and it is much easier to handle. With Zorin OS 6 you still have to do everything with terminal command lines and sudo commands, that really sucks when you have bugs during installation.

I tried a few times and I ended up throwing Zorin OS 6 in the garbage...

I don't care how nice the graphics are during installation, or the tune that they are playing if you can't even install a working system.
I installed both Linux MINT MATE and CINNAMON without any issue, then loaded the NVIDIA driver to get the correct screen resolutions....

I could not do any of that with Zorin OS 6. So much for stable distributions !
