Distro Chart

Postby StevOz on Sun Jul 20, 2008 10:32 pm

I've found this to be an interesting chart to have a look at and I thought many here would like to have a look to, so here's the link to the chart, the picture is a .svg, works in Firefox and Ctrl+/- zoom works too.

I never new SuSE started as a slack based distro. I wonder when they changed to rpm. :?:

A really interesting chart. I enjoyed charting my own journey with Linux that started with Red Hat, then Caldera and so on and so on.

Thanks for the link :)

Interesting link, StevOz. Would you please link to the underlying article? (The chart's got my interest piqued).

Best,

Anthony

I'd like to, though that's the only link I have and I've had no luck in trying to trace it to it's roots, for all I know that might be it.

Ah ha, but wait I think I've found it!

It's got be connected to one of these charts, I'll try and narrow it down. ;)

I appreciate it. In the mean time, I'm going to go cross-eyed staring at all of those charts.

I really like this version with the dates on it. I didn't realise just how long I've been using Linux for. Around 96/97 according to the chart.

All these years and I still feel like a newb at times, especially with a new distro. The joys of Linux :)
