To me this is bigger news than Steam for Linux. At last a cross platform music studio.

Well, when the time/money comes, I'll certainly consider this over Ableton (my current DAW)!
What's the crack with VSTs under Linux??

Not a smooth and joyfull ride. I've only used VST's under LMMS though so it might work better under some other application.

Ps. LMMS is also in a period of heavy development right now so it's definitely something to keep an eye on.

A free demo version will be available for download upon launch at http://www.bitwig.com
Also I tend to think that multi-OS(cross platform mode) can't be that important, apart from saved files for users who need such software.
