50 bucks for a DVD codec is insane O_o cut that price by 90% and they might actually get someone to buy it.

There is a difference. that way it should be *legal*, where as in Mint is not legal for people who live in countries that acknowledge software patents. You can do the exact same thing as Mint does in Ubuntu.

Last time I looked, I could get dvd playback codecs for free from the repos... Have they stopped this?
