Good stuff, though I am slightly confused with his rationale.
He says it's great to let the kids have open source experience and not let them get stuck in a software cage. But they went with Ubuntu, a distribution not exactly known for it's community support and usually it's paid developers do the coding.
Probably would have been better to use a distro that is run, supported and supports a community, maybe Mageia would have been better.

Now that feat is nothing short of amazing. Here's hoping that the xubuntu dev crowd won't let them down.Today, we support over 3,500 Ubuntu laptops and desktops across grades Kindergarten through 12.
That said, it would be great if the school district could send the dev's some bucks to keep up the great work!
Beats the heck out of insane licensing fees!
