woot found a review (sort of) for
gamix
http://gigagamez.com/2007/03/19/new-pc- ... en-source/
It seems to be a very simple approach and many linux users don't like it because he's selling free games (mostly for the packagin work)
However alot of digg users who mostly use windows like the idea (specially since they get rid of windows when they popup the game cd)

just like people packaging software in the reps (someone has to do it and many thought it was dumb back then) and i do admire his initiative specially coming from a guy who works as a winblows server admin..
If dumbing down just like consoles do is the solution then lets go for it.
Also there's no reason why we can't make a "
mint version" of gamix (
Gamint)
we can package the gpl games ourselves and give them for free, unlike gamix. However if gamix is already selling "free games" , then that means commercial support may come soon enough.
Also this is what open console wants to do,
we here at mint may be able to lend a hand ??

A distro that should load pretty fast, small and can be loaded fully into HD or usb stick (similar to
puppy linux maybe)
