anything similiar to Madriva's InstantOn?

hey does anybody know if there's anything similiar to madriva's InstatOn

I'm looking for something that will let me turn it on and check something on the internet real quick without having to go through my whole operating system.

Think you're going to have to wait for Lucid. I believe a 10sec boot is what they are aiming for.

yeah i was looking for something to use as a secondary operating system... like lets say we're at krystal's my batterys dying and i gotta check an email real quick.
WhaChow!!!! it turns on so fast cuz it only has basics i open up firefox (or thunderbird) and there i am!!
maybe a netbook operating system

You could try xPud. It's a Chinese distro that weighs in at about 50
Megabytes installed and boots in under 10 seconds on most modern machines.
The OS is basically a vehicle for Firefox and a movie player (I think Totem) with nothing else installed by default.

Hyperspace is a commercial product of Phoenix Industries and is written to run with Windows on, to this date, a very limited selection of CPUs. As such, I don't know if it will even run as a stand alone OS.
Hyperspace is so restricted as to compatible systems as of now that the installer includes a system compatibility tester to tell you if you can even install Hyperspace on your system.

System Requirements for installing and running Presto

* Require 512MB RAM

A little off topic . . so, apologies in advance. ASUS now have an OS (Linux) built right into the motherboard ! (certain models) they claim to boot in 5 seconds . .

Yeah, but i prefer the Asrock feature i quoted earlier as if you don't disable express gate in the BIOS it adds five or ten seconds to your total boot time while it asks you if you want to use it.
