I saw that article first! (just kidding )
That serves as a good reminder that Linux users should be as careful with what they download from the Internet as many Windows users are (hopefully). If possible, download stuff from signed repositories and be sure to check the md5sum value of your downloads and make sure they match the values given by the vendor.
