Linux Beginner Search Engine (LBSE) is a Google Custom Search Engine Tailored To Search Specific Linux Sites and URLs Only. It weeds out many irrelevant links that we find in default google search. You can further narrow down search by selecting any of the 16 Refinement Filters and / or Date Range Filters.

In simple words LBSE gives Relevant Search Content by separating 'Class' from 'Mass'.

@Alexio also created mint video search engine.

This is a great idea! I just created a custom search engine for the Linux Mint related videos hosted on various video sharing websites.

The mint-green search box for videos is now available at the bottom of each page of the Linux Mint Community Videos website.

I have an impression that Arch Linux is not for beginners.

It is also not debain based. So I have not added it in search engine. In this search engine, I have collected most of Ubuntu derivatives. Only PCLinux OS is an exception. I have included that mostly because it has good documentation of E17 desktop, which is default DE of Bodhi Linux

Refinements are the key. If refinements are carefully configured, CSE can be really effective and can narrow down the search.

Indeed, Arch Linux itself is not for beginners. But I think their Wiki has the best coverage on various topics, for example here is about everything you want to know about GRUB2: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GRUB2. A great source of learning for people new to Linux, as a lot of information is readily accessible in one place instead of tidbits spread all over various forum posts

Anyway, it depends on how you define beginner. Is that a computer noob? Then don't include the Arch Linux Wiki I think, as they should know which end of the mouse is the business end and be able to install a Windows driver or some such. If you define beginner as somebody who can do those things, just doesn't know anything about Linux, Arch Linux Wiki is a valuable source of learning. I know I would have wanted to have this when I was kicking around with Debian unsuccessfully 12 years ago

Well I thought of an average computer user. End users generally hunt for solution only in case of emergency
They think (including myself ) that everything should be self explanatory and does not require manual to begin with. When we bought a new machine machine, nobody cared to have a look at manual. Same with TV sets and DVD player

Any ways you have a valid point. If you want to enter Linux world, then you should be able to help your self, atleast to the extend that you should be able to search for solution, post your problem, able to take screenshot or error log and post it in forums.

CSE is for everybody. I do not have any vested interest. I do not have an add sense account. I will add arch Linux

Chakra Linux also has good explanation of manual partition and how can you shrink windows 7 partition without loosing any data. It just takes few clicks. I request you to please take a look at their wiki and do advise me if I should add it or not.

Should I make another refinement 'installation' which searches only installation wiki or it is not needed. Current CSE gives efficient results. Do let me know.

If you capable of editing and customizing CSE, so that it can have a better look or can be made more effective, please do let me know and I can share authorship. I do not have a creative eye as far as look-n-feel is concerned and the current layout and effectiveness is the best I can. I cannot go any further than this. I do not know html or API or any kind of coding.

Just one concern. Clem is getting revenue from his CSE. I don not wish that he should loose any revenue, because of our CSE.
