I noticed another linux distro is now available: COMICE OS4 - It looks exactly like a MAC OS.
Would looking like a MAC OS cause any Mint users to jump ship and switch to Comice OS4?
Any other opinions on this new distro?

Re: New Linux distro
A Mac-like theme has been around on Linux for ages! It's nothing new, just a waste of time for them to make another distro IMO. It's called "Macbuntu" Looky hereI noticed another linux distro is now available: COMICE OS4 - It looks exactly like a MAC OS.
They also have one for Windows 7 and XP too called "Win2-7 pack" Looky here
Why re-install another Linux distro when the transformation packs are already out there for Debian and Ubuntu distros?
(Linux is a distant cousin of UNIX OS you can say [Mac is based off UNIX])

It is another modification of the GNOME Shell, proving the power of open source software, as it can be tailored to different people's needs. It looks rather polished. I'm not sure who is the target audience for this is; but it looks like the distro is tailored specifically to include drivers to run on Apple hardware.

Re: New Linux distro
As there already are 2-3 other Ubuntu based Mac knock-offs, probably not. As this "new linux distro" is just a new version of Pear OS, which is old news, probably even more not.Darcy wrote:I noticed another linux distro is now available: COMICE OS4 - It looks exactly like a MAC OS.

Re: New Linux distro
As a long-time Mac user who is also a relatively new Linux convert, I wouldn't jump ship from Mint to a Mac knockoff. I'm still dual booting the iMac, but rarely boot the Mac partition and my older MacBook is now a MintBook.bimsebasse wrote:As there already are 2-3 other Ubuntu based Mac knock-offs, probably not.
