Brillo pantalla Mint 14

Hola,

Soy un poco nuevo en Linux aunque ya haya funcionado con Ubuntu, y tengo el un problema que ya he estado leyendo que hay más casos pero no me sirven las soluciones, mi problema es que no puedo bajar el brillo a mi pantalla, el SO me reconoce las teclas de brillo y aparece como crece y decrece la barrita del brillo pero realmente no hace nada, he añadido el gestor del brillo en el panel y nada, he probado con el terminal y la instruccion de xgamma y tampoco, ya no se que hacer. Tengo instalado el Linux Mint 14 Mate de 64 en un Packard bell EasyNote TS con una Intel HD Graphics 3000 como tarjeta gráfica y no se dónde buscar.

Otra solución es instalar el paquete xbacklight ; una vez lo tengas, para saber como usarlo, teclea en la terminal: xbacklight man

Muchas gracias por la ayuda Hatteras, pero me sigue sin funcionar.

He instalado el xbacklight a través del gestor y también por el terminal (reiniciando el sistema incluso) y sigue sin funcionar.

A mi me pasa lo mismo y ya intente todo como vos, blacklight, programas, etc..
de nada sirven los programas y tampoco me servirian la fn si andaran pq es totalmente insensible

Some people - particularly those using laptops - are encountering a problem where the screen brightness is too dim upon replacing Microsoft Windows with a Linux distribution as their main operating system. Although it affects all Linux distributions, the problem is actually due to the computer's BIOS settings. Certain hardware manufacturers have set it up so that if Windows is not detected running on their systems, the backlight is automatically disabled.
Reactivating the Screen Backlight

This problem can be easily fixed by ensuring that the GRUB bootloader re-activates the backlight. To do this, first open up your terminal, and enter the following command:

sudo sed "s/\(GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=\)\"\"/\1\"acpi_osi=Linux acpi_backlight=vendor\"/" /etc/default/grub -i

You will also have to enter your password to continue. Now enter the second and final command:

sudo update-grub

Problems with brightness keys are most often vendor and bios dependent.

Acer

    sudo gedit /etc/default/grub

Add the following parameters to grub configuration:

    GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="acpi_osi=Linux acpi_backlight=vendor"

Update Grub:

    sudo update-grub
