touchpad no funciona en acer aspire es1-711-c7yu (solucion)

holas amigos

soy completamente nuevo en linux, me decidi a instalarlo en mi notebook acer aspire es1-711-c7yu de conjunto con win 7 pro (el cual quiero abandonar en corto plazo)

en apariencia todo funciona bien expecto el touchpad que no me anda en lo absoluto, probe con un mouse comun y este si funciona, no tengo idea si los drivers del touchpad estan instalado y no se como verificar este asunto

agradezco cualquier ayuda que me puedan ofrecer

Copiar y pega los siguientes códigos en una terminal (una línea cada vez) y usa el modo "Code" para proporciona el resultado.

Si como resultado del último código obtienes una línea del estilo Name="ETPS/2 Elantech Touchpad" pueba con esto. Tambien puedes probar a configurarlo como se indica aquí. Suerte

te copio lo que me aparecio, no encuentro ninguna referencia al tocupad, de hecho cuando voy a preferencias / raton en el menu de inicio no aparece la ventana de touchpad!!

Ni rastro del dichoso touchpad. Sería interesante echarle un vistazo a /var/log/Xorg.0.log para ver problemas relaccionados con el touchpad. Tratando de seguir una pauta lógica:

• 1) reinstalar synaptic reiniciar y comprobar

  sudo apt-get install --reinstall xserver-xorg-input-synaptics
  sudo apt-get update
  sudo reboot

  2)Comprobar que sigue sin funcionar y que no aparece en el listado y que existe un desconcido conectado

  3) En tal caso, Inslatalar el kernel 3.16 último (creo que es el 45) y si aún no lo detecta el último 3.19. En cada uno de estos pasos vuleve a comprobar que no aparece en el listado y por supuesto que no funciona.
  
  4) Llegados a este punto desconecta el raton, reinicia sin él y vuelve a adjuntar el resultado del listado (Alt+Ctrl+T para abrir una terminal y escribir cat /proc/bus/input/devices) una vez hecho esto puedes volver a conectar el ratón para enviar el resultado con comodidad..

Bien, probe casi todos los puntos que remarca el amigo jopeta excepto la actualizacion del kernel, y siguio sin aparecer, el touchpad que tengo es un multi touch.. esos que no tienen botones abajo, no se si se deba a eso o no, listando de nuevo y sigue sin aparecer

bueno, cansado de probar decidi cambiar la version a linux min 17.1 y esta version si reconocio el touchpad!!, problema resuelto,. ahora si aparece cuando listo dispositivos y anda perfecto

El amigo Hatteras ha resuelto varios casos de estos en este foro si buscas por bluetooth Hatteras los encontrarás. Si no, abre un nuevo hilo y este lo damos por suelto editando el título del primer post. Aunque para ser más últil el hilo podría explicar lo que probastes (de lo propuesto) y sin el resultado de los códigos (lo pedido en el punto cuatro de mi anterior) la ayuda no se puede prestar.
