Hola,

Como pueden ver aqui ( http://www.linuxmint.com/blog/?p=62#comments ) el Celena live CD sera solamente en Ingles.

Si alguien quiere hacer una version del Celena Live CD en Espanol puedo ayudarle y decirle como hacer. Entonces no seria difficil.

No te preocupes amigo, yo te doy mi garantía de que Celena Spanish edition saldrá simultaneamente con la versión en ingles.

No me importa si tengo que dejar de dormir, me gustan los retos y ay tenemos el primero.

bueno. ta bien......lei el porque de esta decision, y aunque no me gusta.....
en mi esta seguir usandola o no.., supongo que seguire con ella,
a todo esto. me pregunto y pregunto , ¿no se podria hacer un "mintlanguage"?
al mejor estilo de "mintdesktop", "mintconfig" o "mintDisk", no se ,quizas el icono en el escritorio y ahi uno elegir el idioma a instalar y que baje e instale tooodooss los del idioma elegido, y ademas quizas nos de la opcion de eliminar los paquetes (yo lo hago desde synaptic)en idioma ingles,

Gracias por comentar, lo de compartir o no la decisión es cuestión de gustos.
Seria muy fácil si hago una miniguia con imágenes y les traduzco a todos el proceso de instalación , pero a decir verdad Mint no es tan rudimentario y sus miembros tampoco.

Por lo tanto te motivo a que formes parte de la iniciativa de ayudar a tomar esa parte del proyecto que se dejo de lado.

Inmagina que nuestra edición con instalador solo en español se llegue a vender en ondisk.com

Maty: Can you translate into Spanish? ( I can read it alright but I find it really hard to say what I mean.. )

Why is Spanish removed?

Because it takes 15MB on the CD and because as we're upgrading important packages and adding important tools we need to make room for them. In Celena we added AptOnCD for instance, which I'm sure most people will like.

does Linux Mint still support Spanish?

Yes. It just doesn't come with Spanish installed by default. In "Control Center->Language Support" it is possible and very easy to add Spanish and to change the default language to Spanish.

What is the difference then?

The difference is that the liveCD is in English. It can be changed to Spanish after Gnome has booted, but is starts in English.

Is it easy to make a Spanish live CD?

Yes. Basically, the only difference is to replace the following packages:

language-pack-en with language-pack-es and language-pack-gnome-en with language-pack-gnome-es.

Also in isolinux, to remove en.tr and en.hlp, restore es.hlp and es.tr and in langlist replace en by es.

That's it.

To do all that you need to know how to use reconstructor. So for Celena I'll either talk to Maty about that and show him how to do it, or I'll generate the Spanish ISO myself.

Making the ISO is not hard in itself, the problem will be to host it. You need to understand that there are hundreds of languages out there and that I don't have the resources to support all of them. Spanish is big because of this community and its dynamism but then people could ask the same about French, German, Italian, Polish...etc... and I can't possibly generate an ISO for each.

In the future, this will have to be dealt and maintained by the community. You can be frustrated about it but in the end of the day you need to understand the reasons for it.

claro, que No es rudimentario, y es muy facil cargar todo en español desde synaptic, lo unico que intentaba decir, era si se podia agregar algun programa que permita hacerlo mas facil aun, y no solo hablo del español, digo cualquier idioma que no este por defecto en la distribucion,..
en cuanto a colaborar , con gusto, solo que no soy porgramador ni nada, solo soy tecnico y/o adminsitardor de sistemas, trabajo con algunos servidores a nivel Pyme (pequeñas y medianas empresas, se llama aca en Argentina), y algunos terminales Desktop con Linux., de ingles...., lo minimo como para poder desenvolverme con el trabajo, pero si, Si puedo colaborar, aca estoy..

Claro que comprendí el mensaje mi querido amigo. Lo que sucede es que Celena si estará en español cuando se haya instalado en el disco duro, lo que va a ser en inglés es el proceso de instalación.

Maty no te preocupes que de seguro saldran varios betas y rc antes de que salga la final.

La beta sera disponible la proxima semana. Te ayudara para que tu haces una version espanola. No sera dificil.

Nota: (en ingles). The only difference will be that Spanish will be included by default and chosen as the default language. So the user won't have to select it in "Control Center->Language Support".

Nota (en ingles): I think people don't realize that. It is possible to run the liveCD in Spanish and any languages with the the English version of Celena, all you need to do is to fo to Control Center -> Language Support. The only difference between now and before is that before you used to choose Spanish from the first screen (isolinux), whereas now you choose Spanish in Gnome (Control Center->Language Support). In other words, what a Spanish release will bring is simply the possibility to boot the liveCD directly in Spanish, without using the control center. This is only interesting for people who actually use the liveCD all the time...
