Não entrarei em por menores, pois não estou aqui para criticar mas sim tentar dentro do que aprendi sendo um fuçador amador a verificar como anda o sistema que uso.
Logo de inicio você atualiza sua instalação do Mint e já recorrente ele atualiza o linux-image e não o linux-headers, veja abaixo:

Sinto a sinceridade, mas vejo falando disso a tempos, certamente se soubesse escrever em um inglês bom escrevia também na área oficial desse forum, pois sei que isso como disse vem sendo recorrente desde versões anteriores.
