Chinese customization

因为Mint的很多features，包括flash, java, ntfs支持, automounting分区等，使它很适合不太熟悉linux的人用。但现在Mint不是中国人最容易安装的linux发行版本，主要是因为还没有中文支持。因此，我想试一下能不能做一个中国人更容易用的Mint版本。除了加上中文字体和openoffice中文支持以外，我还想加上其他有用的软件，譬如stardict以及各种辞典等。

第一个任务是把Mintmenu中文化。我的母语不是中文所以这个翻译工作有一定的难度。欢迎中国朋友来参与。我还没翻译的部分如下：

但如果在安装时选择中文，就会是乱码，导致用户无法选择后续的安装选项。解决方案，在安装光盘中添加中文字库如文泉驿即可。

有什么办法帮助他们汉化MintMenu吗？MintMenu和gnome control center菜单的部分内容是相同的，但是一个是中文的，一个是英文的，为什么是这样的？

可能是字符编码的问题，如zh_CN.utf-8 和 en_US.UTF-8是不同的。

Hi,

I'm English and have limited knowledge of Mandarin. Hence I'm asking in English, not zhongwan, but a lot of the experts in this field are going to be those who speak mandarin so don't have a problem with the bi-lingual thing.

I want to set my father in law up with an older laptop, but I'm aware how many viruses etc. are in China as my sister in law's computer is riddled with them.

Can I configure a bi-lingual English/Mandarin (simplified) Chinese Linux Mint System, or would there be a different flavour of Linux that would do this better?
