Unable to access preferences for mintMenu

I'm trying to access the properties or preferences for mintMenu to set a shortcut for opening it (I read that Ctrl + Win should work, that is not the case for me). I can not right click "Menu" since right clicking has the same effect as left clicking, it just opens the menu. How can I access the properties in an other way to change / enable the mintMenu shortcut?

I am on Linux Mint 12.

klevstul, Pressing Win key alone works for me.

Pressing the Win key brings up a view were I can view all running programs / overview over windows and search in programs, however it is the same as pressing "Menu" in bottom left corner (the mintMenu).

Seems that it was a bug which was fixed:

Have you updated your system. If not, open a terminal window and run:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
