(Solved) - grub gfx menu question

Postby Nomad on Mon Jun 02, 2008 9:58 pm

Ok so I made a custom Gfx grub splash and it works fine on my installed copy. I added it to both menu files in the /boot/grub/ directory. so instead of message.elyssa its message.nomad.
But when I remaster the system it apparently is still looking for message.elyssa as it says it cant find it and won't show my gfx splash. Any ideas?

Nomad,

Just rename the original "message.elyssa" file to "messageBAK.elyssa" and make yours "message.elyssa."

Problem solved. :-)

Oh, I don't know about that. I don't know enough about remaster to help you there. Sorry.

Is this after you install it to a system.
The update-grub has to be edited to use your new file.
Also can I get your source.(I only had one I have found to work with the updated gfx.)
/usr/sbin/update-grub
Line: 364
Code: Select all
gfxmenu=/etc/grub/message.elyssa

to
Code: Select all
gfxmenu=/etc/grub/message.nomad

If you want to change Linux Mint from the boot menu it's line 268.
