remastersys on multiple hardware configuration

Postby yessirsir on Wed Aug 27, 2008 12:57 pm

Hi

I just finished to instal ubuntu and did all upgrades / updates. I also installed a few extra apps but nothing special (only like burning soft, music player and such...)

I am planning to use remastersys to be able to re-install my ubuntu OS as is, in case of an emergency or whatever. but i came to wonder, what if after backing up my OS, i decide to install it on my other computer using this backup. this other PC have different hardware and specs...(its a laptop) so i wonder if it will still install and make the required adjustements for it to run properly.

Is anyone know about this ?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Always a risk it won't, but Linux is not Windows.... so I think the chances are good that it will work OK.
From what I've seen the graphics card may pose a problem

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
