set icon for an app from /opt (solved)

Postby nadir on Sat Nov 07, 2009 6:50 am

i added an application to /opt (icecat from gnu.org, if it matters), which went fine. When i right-click on the panel and choose
-> add to panel -> custom application launcher
or when i right click on the custom gnome-menu and choose:
->edit menus -> internet -> new item
i get the custom icon for a new application launcher (which looks kinda ugly)

am i able to change that icon? thanks in advance

Perhaps: If the application, in this case a Firefox type browser (icecat); has an icon in its executable file, find the executable file and change the icon to reflect what is available

You might want to have a look at Gnome-do, it will have more options for launchers..
