Linux Mint windows freezing

Whenever i run the LiveCD of linux mint and open up a window, the window freezes at random every time. I can still move the mouse, but i can't close it down, or open anything else. I thought the problem might lie in the fact that i ran the 32-bit version, but when i tried the 64-bit version the same thing happened. Whenever i run mint in a virtual machine, the problem is not present. I am using unetbooting to "burn" the .iso to the usb. The linux mint version i am using is the standard one with codecs. ( not the kde or lxde desktop )

I would start by disabling compositing windows effects and eventually the wirelles card and see if anything changes.
I´ve seen similar behavior on both linux and windows related to those features, so it might be a starting point.

Thanks for the reply! Now, i googled around for that too, but since i didn't find anything that resembled a guide on how to do it can you tell me how to do it, please?
