Website text editor

I am hoping to be able to write code for a website I am creating while running Linux because of the multitasking features it has. I have a laptop shared with Windows and Linux and have previously written code (HTML5) on Dreamweaver and Notepad ++ in Windows.

Are there any apps or software on linux that could duplicate what I was doing on windows writing code?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Try Bluefish. If it is not already installed you can do so via synaptic or the Software Centre.
I can also recommend Arachnophilia:

Gedit

(as in keep it simple, learn the code)....

On a daily basis, I use Gedit for PHP, HTML, Java Scripting and JQuery app development. I've been 100% Gedit for 5+ years.
