I'm stumped. No idea why "Install Linux Mint" link is not on the desktop or in the menu.
If anyone else knows what's happening here, please chime in!
Do you by any chance have an extra usb that you could set-up as another live usb and a second connection on the computer to connect it to while using the current one you are on. If so, I'm going to see if I can guide you through making another live usb through the Mint that you are running off of now. If your answer is "yes" then, while you are waiting for my reply back and while you are in the live usb, go to Mint's download page and download the iso file you want into the "Downloads" folder. You will need that for my instructions.
If still waiting for my reply and have downloaded the iso again, open a terminal (Menu > Accessories > Terminal) and copy/paste the following and hit enter:
- Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install usb-creator-gtk
I'll check back here in 20 minutes. DO NOT SHUTDOWN/RESTART COMPUTER!
Your download and usb-creator package will be lost if you do.
