It took quite a while just updating three at a time!
I was surprised that doing it this way each and every update installed ...I had expected to find, at some point the rogue update responsible for previously fouling up each attempted "mass update".

However, upon starting Firefox, the first tab shows the circular "progress GIF" and eventually it announces that it cannot find "the server at start.ubuntu.com".....or indeed any of the pages I point to, google, youtube, Mint Forums.
I've tried un-installing it, then re-installing it to no avail. Must admit, I don't recall any previous association with "Ubuntu", FF has never before defaulted to seeking the Ubuntu site.
I've tried installing Chromium, and seamonkey both of which fail to install.
Is there some way to put this right, or do I have to re-install Mint?
Sorry, forgot to say, I'm using Mint 9 LXDE....but at the moment, having to resort to Windows!
