Keyboard and mouse stopped working

Keyboard and mouse stopped working

Hi, so after mint running fine yesterday on my MacBook today when I turn it on I cannot log in because it seems that the keyboard and mouse have stopped working. I have no idea what to do. If I hold option on startup the mouse works fine until I select the hard drive. Then it stops working on the log in screen.
