I had to install official ATI drivers to solve an issue with VirtualBox. So I installed latest available: amd-driver-installer-12-4-x86.x86_64.run on Mint 12.
After installing drivers I can use my monitors only in mirror mode. Although in Catalyst Control Center I have the option to choose multi-display or single-display-desktop it's not working. After pressing OK and restarting I have the same mirrored desktop.

Dont want to insult you intelligence but have you been through the usual root of system settings > displays? I had this problem at work getting LM 13 to run on two monitors straight away but solved it by using monitor settings.
