laptop keyboard and numpad issues

Postby calcium20 on Sat Mar 08, 2008 12:43 pm

On my hp laptop I have a full keyboard with numpad. when I turn on numlock the right side of my keys something like h-right, all start putting out numbers as if they are the numpad, the numpad still functions though!
I have know idea what other information is needed but it is happening to me in vista as well all of a sudden, kind of strange never had the problem in linux or windows until about a month ago.
Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

So this error just appears out of the blue?
Have you had any other Windows than Vista on that lappy?
Which laptop is it?
You could google for name + keyboard + error

Nope no other windows have been on here, Iand I can't really pinpoint the time it started happening.
I don't know what would have affected the detection of my keyboard layout. I guess I will just keep looking for problems.
oh its an hp Pavilion dv9000
amd turion 64x2 2.0ghz
2gb ddr2 ram
2x 120gb hdd
nvidia nforce/ geforce 7150m
broadcom 4312

everything works really except this. Kind of a strange one isn't it.

You see sometimes Windows makes changes to hardware - it alters settings in the firmware and I was thinking that this might have happened to you
