Gnome Panel retains system theme

Anyone know how to fix this: I went from system theme to just using a color on the gnome panel but the menu applet and the window list applet is keeping the system theme ? Whatza goin on here??? Please help. Thanks repliers.

The panel is not the panel :)
Part of it like where the menu and clock are and the window list are not the panel and has to be treated separately - don't know how though, but I remember that it was tricky (someone else reported this)
Search the forum for a solution (better from the start page have I just discovered)
