Help with RT3090 driver?

Postby J05H11E on Sun May 27, 2012 2:43 pm

Afternoon guys,

I have just installed Linux Mint 13. Unfortunately wifi is not working out of the box :(

I have a HP G62 with the Ralink RT3090 wireless chipset.

Just starting out with Linux so some "noddy" instructions would be appreciated :)

Thanks in advance,
J

Ok, your laptop's wifi switch is turned off (or at least seems to be). The rt3090 is not to blame here.

Most laptops these days have a LED indicator that says whether Wifi is turned on or off. Do you have one? And if so, does it mark your Wifi as Off? If so (lol), enable it in System Settings -> Network -> Wireless, if that's possible.
