Mounting USB stick problem

OK I fixed HAL ( see my thread viewtopic.php?f=90&t=10322)

Mint KDE 4.0.44 beta ( mini)

and my USB Sticks/thumbdrives mount without problems, BUT:-

I do have a problem with a USB stick that is a carrier ( like a hub) that accepts my XD cards from my digital cameras.

When I plug in this stick with an included XD card, it shows in fstab automatically as

<device> /dev/olympus auto user,noauto,atime,rw,nodev,noexec,nosuid 0 0
usb-stick /dev/usbstick auto user,noauto,atime,rw,nodev,noexec,nosuid 0 0

but no icon shows on the Desktop and I cant mount the device from KDF

and in Configure KDE Disks and File Systems as

Removable US Disk MAUSB-100

I cant use the Mount Point Editor as it wont accept/retain anything that I enter for this device.

This device has worked in earlier versions of Mint and in other Distros without problems.

Advice please.

This is one for Boo. I have seen a couple problems related to the usb that were pretty strange in the KDE CE version. Don't know if the same is true in main Mint 4 or not.

Hope you get an answer though. I would like to know too.
