sound doesnt match up

Postby Schoza on Sun Jun 17, 2012 9:18 pm

hey all
ok I've been using mint 13 for a few months now, i must admit i was a bit intimidated by it but now i realize that linux rocks. basically ive set up a multimedia system, raided my drives and best of all no more WINDOWS, definitely a convert the only prob i need to solve is that im having issues with vlc and sometimes mplayer with the sound and video not matching up, my sound is build into motherboard GA-Z68X-UD5-B3, is there a way that i can check if i have a driver issue. any recommendations for other players
cheers

Install package pavucontrol and see if the channels are correct.

This may be unrelated, but I had a similar problem with Veetle sound sync. Here is a link that worked for me. http://www.lziegler.com/wordpress/?p=108 My point is the problem involved pulse audio. That may be a starting point. And it did not completely cure the out of sync. Made it very close though.
