Installing Mint 13 on Aspire one

Postby richdell on Mon Jul 30, 2012 8:06 am

I am trying to install Mint 13 on an Acer A0751h without success. I made a USB stick with Unetbootin. It gets to the desktop, but the "Install Linux" icon does not work. On boot up, I get an error message as shown in the attached picture. I'm sure someone knows the answer, but I am a real noobie, and need simple instructions. (I can get to a terminal) Thanks

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

My hunch is that you have a corrupt .iso file. Download it again and retry. Or check the .iso checksum to see if it's valid. I assume you're trying to convert from Windows; instructions for validating checksum under Windows are here: http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/linux-veri ... indows-xp/

After stumbling around for a while, I discovered an item on the menu called"Install Mint". That solved the problem! Now I'm up and running, working on the wireless card problem. Thanks for your help.
