Hey folks,
first of all i'm sorry to ask this question even though i know that there are many other topics concerning a similar issue... but none of them helped me /=
My computer: Linux Mint 13 MATE 64-bit (Windows 7 64-bit as my second operating system), 4GB RAM, Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.66GHz /// swap partition => 4GB
My issue: When i tried to use hibernate via "menu => turn off => hibernate" my screen simply went black for a few seconds, following that my fans would rotate a little bit faster (the way they do when my system boots) and my desktop reappeared.
After a little bit of research i came across the code "sudo s2disk". When i used this one, my screen went black again - but now it said that it's saving some data to my RAM. So when it had finished doing so, my system tried to reboot straight away - but it failed (the bootscreen said so). I had to open the boot menu and exit it; after another boot my desktop environment reappeared like it just returned from hibernation.
My question: How do I get that hibernate-mode working? Having to turn off the system each time I don't need it for a few hours is just excruciatingly... irritating.
I dunno if this is relevant but with Windows 7 hibernate is working just fine.
Thanks a lot - and by the way: you really helped me setting up my "Mint" without knowing it ;P
greets,
BDQ
