Mint updater not working <SOLVED>

Postby NightWish on Mon Mar 31, 2008 7:16 am

It's probably a newby question, but I just can't figured out what's going wrong with the OS.
Although my Internet connection is working fine (sometimes it's reconnection for some reason) The mintupdate (the icon next to WIFI status) is keep telling "Cannot find Internet connection". When I open this installer and refresh, the icon is blinking some times and then giving this messeage again.

I cannot figure out why this program is acting this way.

Does someone have a clue on this one?

I've the latest Mint Edition, x86 32 bit.

The regular packet manager is working fine.

I must preface my reply by saying I do not know if it WILL fix your problem BUT I have had problems with partial net access and I have got past it by inserting two more DNS servers ABOVE the default one in youe net setup

the two servers are 208.67.222.222
and
208.67.220.220

for more info goto http://opendns.org/

hope this does help

Too bad the solution, given by madevan was not working. I also hav'nt found a solution whiole browsing on the Internet, so I deciden to uninstall the mintupdate. After that I reinstalled the application by using sudo apt-get install mintupdate
That seems to work!!

So it's finally solved!

Thanks for thing madevan!
