Nvidia problem

I installed the Nvidia driver through Envy (I have a Geforce Go 7300). However I don't have a title bar on any of my windows and when I open the terminal from the mintMenu it goes completely white (when I type nothing shows up). Help please? Sorry if the solution's really obvious. I'm a complete newbie to Linux so I can't figure things out for myself.

Try deactivating Compiz.
