Gettin' Mint 4.0

Postby polyz on Wed Apr 09, 2008 7:41 pm

I was just wondering if it will work with my video card (if the drivers are pre-installed with Mint or not)

Nvidia 8600GT (XFX) 256mb... hoping it will work, it didn't work in openSUSE.

thanks because I want the cube to work. :)

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

It should work, the NVIDIA driver's will not be pre-installed; however, it is a simple matter of downloading the newest version of Envy http://www.albertomilone.com/nvidia_scripts1.html (Default Envy in Mint does not install the latest drivers). This program will automatically install the proprietary drivers for you.
Cheers.

It'll work, just use ENVY to install the drivers.
Custom-Built comp, Mint for desktop, Windows Vista for gaming, shared data partition for personal docs:
