i have installed sucessfully on my dell inspiron 1520 linux mint 4.0 and love it but have no sound whatsoever, just an error message stating no device or no gstreamer installed , please advice me what i need to do to solve this issue

Check that gstreamer is installed (in Synaptic)
It probably is and I guess the error message is due to no hardware found
What sound does it have?
(You can't find out anything with certainty on the net about the content of a particular computer)
