Despite my adoption of my signature to remind myself that if it's not broke, don't fix it, I keep making changes to Mint that I later regret (at least now, I have /home mounted separately
). Specifically, coming from Windows, I think I obsessively keep my packages up-to-date, when in Linux this may be unnecessary, and sometimes undesirable. My latest package updating binge has creating the following graphics bugs in Mint KDE (circled areas show a distortion in the FF scroll-bar, and an ugly white background to MintUpdate).
What's the recommended thought-process in deciding whether one really
needs to update a package in Linux?
