My laptop currently is dual boot with separate Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04 partitions. I'm very familiar with Ubuntu but I'm new to Mint. I plan to resize my Windows 7 partition and replace the Ubuntu 12.04 partition with a Mint 14 installation. Does the Mint 14 installer make this fairly easy? (easy as it was for Ubuntu?)
Also, I plan to do a restore of some data (music, videos, etc) I backed up using Ubuntu's default backup program. Is this program available from the Mint repositories and has anyone else tried this and been successful?

LM 14 is directly derived from Ubuntu 12.10 and uses much the same installer as Ubuntu 12.10. All of the Ubuntu repositories are available for LM14 as they are for Ubuntu 12.10.
