Mate-Nadia problem with panels and frozen desktop

I had already created 4 desktop panels ("the area on your desktop from which you can run applications and applets, and perform other tasks") and I tried to create another one (just to know what would happen) and now nothing works. My desktop is frozen and just shows the wallpaper and a single top panel without the icons. I have rebooted several times and it's like I have pressed the selfdestruct button
