Hi, I have a DVD which according to the disc properties uses UDF as the file system. I own the disc and want to make a back up. Which program should I use and what are the correct settings, and any other info that might be useful. Thanks to all.
First, you should understand that with the state of DRM these days, you don't really own any media you purchase. What you've purchased is the very, very, very limited right to view the DVD contents under an extremely limited set of circumstances. Nonetheless, I agree that you should be able to rip such "protected" discs with reckless abandon...and fortunately, I'm not alone. There are are many resources for ripping DVDs in Linux. Some involve custom scripts; others the command line; and still others use fancy GUI's like you're used to in Windows. There's a method to suit all tastes.
